I am a Professional Member of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians (NAPBIRT) as well as a Certified Straubinger™ Pad Technician and an Authorized Muramatsu Repair Technician.   I repair all makes and models and currently am the Flute Repair Technician at The Master Musician in Murrieta, California.

Service Packages

COA: (Clean, Oil, and Adjust)

Prices: 
Student Instruments – $150.00*
Intermediate Instruments – $250.00*
Professional Instruments – $375.00*

I recommend an annual COA to keep your flute in good working condition and to avoid future problems. A COA includes:

  • Complete disassembly of the instrument including pinned sections
  • Clean and polish – keys cleaned as much as possible without disturbing pads and bumpers
  • Springs tested and replaced as needed
  • Head cork replaced
  • All pads and bumpers examined and replaced as needed*
  • All mechanisms including rods, rollers, screws, rollers and hinge tubes cleaned and oiled
  • Pads re-shimmed as required to cover with a light touch
  • Key to key adjustments, key height, and lost motion regulated to exact standards
  • Instrument thoroughly play tested

*Please note:

Individual pads are an additional $20 each. Body work (i.e. dent removal and alignment), major mechanical work, buffing, and soldering will be subject to an additional cost, which is assessed on an individual basis.

REPAD / OVERHAUL

Prices: 
Student Instruments – $500*
Intermediate Instruments – $900*

Professional Instruments – $1550*
Professional Instruments with Straubinger pads – $1950*

  • Complete disassembly of the instrument including pinned sections
  • All the keys, body, head, and foot thoroughly cleaned and polished
  • Dents improved, removed if possible, for cosmetic, acoustical, and mechanical considerations
  • Tone holes corrected as needed and faced true
  • Springs tested and replaced if necessary
  • The head cork replaced
  • All pads, bumpers and adjustments replaced. Pads seated to cover with a light touch
  • All mechanisms including rods, rod screws, pivot screws, rollers and hinge tubes cleaned and oiled.
  • Keys refitted to exacting tolerances, key to key adjustment, key height and lost motion regulated
  • Finally, the instrument allowed to set, re-examined for regulation then thoroughly play tested for confirmation, with re-adjustments, as necessary

*Please note:

Extreme body work and/or major mechanical work, buffing, and soldering will be subject to an additional cost, which is assessed on an individual basis.  Please allow 2-4 weeks.
